Anyone know what the real weight of a D830 will be? Dell says it weighs 5.98 lbs with a 6 cell battery and a CD-ROM. Any idea how much weight a 9 cell battery and/or a DVD burner would add?

    Thanks!

i will weight my D620 with 9 cell for you; and it came out 4.90lbs. the original weight for D620 should be around 4.20 lbs. so it added about .7; i know this might not be correct so don't take my word for it.

I got my D830 yesterday and it has the 6 Cell and the CD/DVD combo - not the dvd burner.

I would say it is around 6 lbs. Pretty light. Way lighter than my Inspiron 6400 was with a 9 cell.

Buddy of mine has a 17" macbook pro and my 830 is lighter than it.
