    HI all,

I noticed that the battery life on my D820 isn't always great. For some reason when I run it on battery it still shows up in my computer as running at 1.83ghz. Shouldn't it step down to half that when not plugged in? How do I fix that?

There should be somthing under the power saving options. Right click on the battery icon in the task tray. There should be some options there. Be sure to set it to a battery saving setting. Then you can always dim the screen and that should get you some more time.

If your trying to get more battery life out of it you'll want to pay a visit in your system BIOS settings on the D820, there are many battery saving options buried in there.

I didn't see an option for what I'm talking about unless its related to speedstep. If you right click on my computer, XP should tell you what speed your system is running at. When you pull the plug it should cut to half. It WAS doing that at one point, and now its not (consequently, my battery life is suffering). My old P4M lattitude did the samething. I'm not sure if I did something to change this behavior, or it did it itself.

    Any ideas??
