    Hi,

I ordered a D820 with a WSXGA+ screen, I originally asked for the WUXGA but the sales lady talked me out of it based on how I use my notebook -which is - a lot of web surfing, emailing, Microsoft Office applications, brochure making, publishing and a little photo editing - she said I'd find the print too small - now I agree.

I'm looking for the clearest type possible on the screen, and I don't like real small letters and icons, and worst of all I don't like the 'grainy-ness' of cheaper screens.

So was I right to order the WSXGA or should I of went for the basic WXGA panel for larger type, but wouldn't it be 'grainy'.

WXGA or WSXGA+ or WUXGA which one do you think would suit my needs more?

I'm typing on a HP dv4330 w/ briteview right now at 1280 x 768 and its incredibly clear!

    Thanks for any advice.

LCD screens are only grainy/pixelated if you are running them at a non-native resolution. For instance, if you had gone with the WUXGA screen, got tired of the tiny print, and then ran the screen at WSXGA+ resolution, you would notice a graininess/pixelatedness.

The WSXGA+ was probably the right choice if you don't like tiny type. I have used UXGA/WUXGA for several years now, but got tired of the small print so I had to increase the font size on my browser.

I think WSXGA is right on a 15" screen, but it is a personal preference. You should look at some of each if possible.
