I got the bluetooth card after i had bought this laptop. It is installed fine and the blue light next to the power button lights up which means that the bluetooth card is working. Wrong. IF i go into BIOS it says bluetooth device <none>. Apparently the BIOS does not detect it.

    what's wrong ?

Is it being detected in the device manager?

I haven't checked my BIOS to see what mine says, but as long as your bluetooth card is connecting to other devices and working fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

no , BIOS can't see it so it is not usable to any OS

btw no device manager here , i run Linux :)

what stikes me though is if it is defective how one arth can the bluetooth light turn on?

lol, okay that's a whole other issue.

The light could be on if the bluetooth radio is on (eventhough BIOS isn't detecting it) or just because it is plugged in.

Have you installed linux drivers for BT yet?
