Is the D630 every coming out with a dedicated graphics card? It's one of the few things holding me back from cancelling my T61 and getting a dell :)eek :).

I heard the dedicated graphics cards will be here around the end of June. I think they will arrive in early July.

Are you running Vista? Any issues with it, if you are?

Oh, so you're admitting the D630's screen is dark? :D

Since the D620 is now off the market from Dell, at least in my country, I would assume Decicated Graphics will be out sometime soon for D630.

I'm running vista and everything is fine for the time being. Some programs, in order to get them to install properly, you must run in compatibility mode with windows XP and right click the set up file and run as administrator.

I did have my vault crash in the TPM document manager, but I don't know what caused that. That is the only problem I've has so far with my computer, but I'm sure it was user error.

Cobalic - You and I both know that the D630 screen is better than the T61 screen :D

If I remember right, both of them use the same screen manufacturers.

You need to get out more :)

Stop hugging your dell and go watch pulp fiction. Oh, better yet - download pulp fiction onto your dell and watch it! You may need prescription glasses after... :p

Thinkpad screens are just as bad as Latitude screens. Business laptops are not known for good monitors. If you want a good monitor, buy a gaming laptop.

p.s. Pulp Fiction is a terrible movie.

You take me too seriously. But while we're on the topic, I already need prescription glasses. No laptop can help me there.
    Wow.

Well, the 14.1" WXGA+ screens are generally problematic, even in "gaming" laptops...

Otherwise, there's no problem to get business laptop with good "monitor"... :D

I heard rumors about that. The Dell Latitude D620 with WXGA does not have any problems and the new D630s have a much brighter WXGA (not WXGA+) screen.

There is a reason I'm buying the 14" screen... no, not for it's legendary quality - so I won't need a forklift to carry the damn thing around.

If for some reason I need a better screen for something graphics intensive (game, photoshop, porn, etc.) I'll hook it up to an LCD monitor.

And really, I have nothing against the D630 beyond the lack of a dedicated GPU. It's just fun to poke at Dell and watch Sirius_GTO's eyes dilate :D

Dunno, try going to the gym frequently.. :D

Yep, porn is really graphics intensive and it requires high contrast to see the details, otherwise you can miss something important... :D
