well, i don't have it yet, but it was shipped as of 6/29/07. I purchased the laptop with 2 days delivery.
Of course, i'll do a complete review and benchmark with 3dmark 2003-2005, PC mark etc.... and i'll try it with a few games, including half-life 2, halo 1, and fear. If your cuious about the specs, here are some.
- T7700 (2.4Ghz) core 2 duo
- 4Gb of ram 667mhz - i got this separate at fry's online store for less than $200 (i will also be testing it with 2gb of ram for those who can't afford 4gb right now)
- 80gb @7200 Hard drive
- NVS 135m
- vista business
-
Looking forward to it. It's interesting how the nvs 350 will be with games.
When did you order btw? -
I ordered it on 6/15/07. I have an estimated delivery date before or after July 4. So, i'm guessing 7/3/07 or 7/5/07.
-
Wow, that's quite some specs you got on it!
I look forward to reading the review! -
Waah, I ordered 6/14 and it still hasn't shipped
-
Thanks in advance for this. Just wonder when we'll see a D830 review with the NVS 140M.

Once they start rolling, it should be a lot faster. For example, the D630s with integrated graphics are taking like 3 days to ship. -
it hasnt shipped yet, but should ship out soon
spec'd as follows:
t7300 2.0ghz core 2 duo
2gb ram
256mb nvidia quadro nvs 140m
80 gb 7200 rpm hdd
intel 4965 a/b/g/n wireless
bluetooth
vista ultimate
i'll get the review up as soon as i can. -
If you all get a chance could you also post how long the batteries are lasting with the dedicated graphic cards?
-
Grrr, I ordered on 6/12/07 and it still says "In Production" and not scheduled to ship until 7/14/07. Same high-end specs too!

I'll be honest; I only joined this forum to facilitate my laptop purchase. Now that it's almost over, I feel like it's time to say goodbye.
And I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular, but I'm willing to bet a lot of people that say they'll write reviews as soon as they get it really won't. -

I know I am going to write up a review. It does not look like NBR will have a shortage of D630 reviews.

If I'd have known they'd be offering a dedicated card this soon, I would've waited to order mine. Don't use games on the biz lapper, though.

very wierd.. -
Hey,
Just to update. I got my delivery date from DHL. It will be delivered on July 3rd. My review won't disappoint.
I've been reading around. Is it true that driver for NVS 135m is not available as of yet? If this is the case, how am i supposed to come up with an appropriate benchmark? Any help?
Anyways i don't care if drivers are out or not, i'm still gonna bench the damn thing. I'm getting really tired. I will be going now..... -
You can get various beta/leaked/etc. Geforce drivers with modified INF files (so you can install them on mobile cards) at http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/. Go into their forums to get them.
I'd be interested to see the performance differences (if any) between the stock Quadro NVS driver Dell provides and the Geforce driver if it's not too much trouble. -
It will also be interesting to see the difference between the nvs and the geforce 8x series
-
Download the appropriate drivers, and voila, your NVS is an 8 series card. Although personally, if the NVS is fine for my needs, I won't even bother. -
i went to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com but can't seem to find the drivers for nvs350 -
I've never tried, but from what I understand those drivers are not card-specific; download the latest driver and try.
Maybe someone else can provide a better tutorial? -
I ordered a few days ago.. might take up to 4 weeks... grrrrr
-
For anyone who cares, i installed the dell drivers for nvs350 and got a "Desktop performance for windows aero" score of 3.2.
Then installed the ones from laptopvideo2go and it increased it to 3.6.
D630 w/NVS 135m review to come soon.
