Every now and again, the touchpad (and the accompanying buttons below) on my D630 becomes unresponsive. The pointing stick will still work, but the touchpad seems to interfere with it, and sometimes it stops working pretty much entirely. My drivers are the newest available on Dell's site... any suggestions? I'm about to start school, so I really need to get this sorted out.

Check the settings first. Did you change anything? I know there's a setting that will turn off the touchpad when you start typing.

Not sure what Synaptics drivers have to do with this touchpad... it's made by Alps..

And as for settings, I looked and it all seems alright. I turned off DragLock to be safe, and since I never use it, but there's also a feature called TouchCheck that is turned on... but I'm reticent to turn it off since I have no idea what it does.

I just noticed this for the first time with my D630 this week. Additionally my HD is now louder.

    Ideas?
