I have a D630 with a T7100 and in the future I´m thinking of upgrading this CPU. How high can I go with it? What is the top processor the D630 can handle?

The T7800, or if dell updated the BIOS for your machine you can possibly put in a T9500 or so in there.

Are you sure that the T9500 will work, even with a BIOS update? Are the number of pins the same?

And, will it run at the new FSB ( 800 or 1333 Mhz) ?

The Dell USA site has the option to choose the T9500 for the D630. I don´t know if it is the same motherboard. Does anybody knows? Looked at intel website and this processor isn´t listed there. what is the difference between T8xxx and t9xxx series?

T8xxx has 3MB L2 while E9xxx has 6MB... everything else are pretty much the same as far as i remember.

The T9500 will fit with BIOS update, they take the same socket as Merom.

But will it work at 667 FSB (Merom) or the new FSB of Penryn?

The chipset on the D630 can use either 667MHz or 800MHz...it depends on which processor you have.
