If one gets a dell D630 and a port replicator (D/Port) or dock (D/Dock), can one use the S-video.

Likewise, if you did DVI to HDMI via a (cheap) converter, would it be able to display appropriate resolutions on a high-definition television?

    I didn't think the D630 had s-video?

The s-video output from the d/port replicator works with my D620, so it should work with the D630 too.

The DVI->HDMI should only be limited by the video card driver options. Someone with Intel integrated is going to have to chime in on this one. I know with my NVS 110m the Nvidia drivers there's an option to treat the output device as an HDTV as seen in the pic.
