D630 Arrival time comparison

Potential owners of D630 should post their order date,cancellation date,and estimatec shipping date.

Ordered 8/09/2007--
Cancelled 8/15/2007-- Dell rep..accidently cancelled it
Reordered 8/15/2007--
Estimated arrival 9/5/2007

This should make us aware of whats going on with the D630 shipments.

I heard that there was still a 2 week backorder on the screens starting 8/15/2007...So i guess there is no way that we would get it before the actual estimated arrival date..Could be even late than the estimated arrival date...

edd=31st july
new edd=16th august
newer edd=6 september
cannot choose another manufacturer because dell owe me 1 system so im stuck waiting but if i was a paying customer id have taken my money elsewhere 2 edd,s ago
communication is the worst ive ever encountered and i was told (lied to!)by phone right up to my edd that everything was fine and my order was on iits way! then 24 hrs later i was emailed by a computer automated response to inform me of a further 3 week delay!

ESD #2: 8/15
ESD #3: 8/22

Called and was told that it would be shipped ontime for ESD #2, of course that passed. So I went online and asked the CSR when the new date was in which she said it would be 8/31. Log on the next day, given 8/22 as the shipping date. Called to change shipping info and waiting to see what the truth is. Was only given a shipping upgrade, so far.

 

some of the indian, malaysian or outside people have no information about anything.

you relly have to talk to the dell businees segment people..to get the latest information..and ask for the backorder date.

I can understand that youre mad...just call them....and complain..and talk about how long it has been..and how your work hass suffered....and ask them outright for a free upgrade..
I cant do it because i was told when it would come in and that date is a long way.

 

i just went in and bought the same configuration + windows xp pro instead of windows vista basic+ dvd writer instead of cd/dvd combo for about 130$ extra.. FROM DELL OUTLET for 130$ extra...Original congiguration Price was 1070....now it costs 1200$

yeah i couldnt wait...i got the tracking number the say day i ordered it...its coming in on monday morning...))) ...cant wait

i dont know why but dell outlet default was overnight shipping..and i got it the next day..sucks that the next day was a saturday..so im getting it on monday

My status did change today to "in production". But when I refreshed the page after about an hour or so the status was back to "preproduction" #$!!@&
I guess someone or some system decided that 1 month in preproduction wasn't good enough to finally start to doing something.

I gues that's okay... I start school on Sept 5!

In where do you live (what country)? Because well I at least find it a bit strange that I have ordered a full week before you and my status is still in f**ing preproduction. So I would love to know because then I could slap Dell with the facts.

 

amaze- you have the right to be mad. have they told you what the delay is? I ordered mine on 8/11, esd1 9/11, esd2 9/18, but it shipped today 9/14 and should get here between 9/19 to 9/21

 

This is f**ing #!$%!! Dell says that they can't supply the screen (14.1 inch 1400x900), but I'm getting more and more they impression this is baloney.
They just favour other countries.

I am waiting on a d630 since the 16th of july and have had every colour and flavour of bull**** from csrs,supervisors,managers,escalation supervisors,department managers,case controllers etc etc
my newest esd is 10oct and when i push them for an answer they still cant even tell me it definately wont be delayed again come the 10oct
by the way on the 10th oct i will be waiting 84 days in god damn pre production

 

@mark123can: same thing here. ordered 30 july and might get it on 17th october. nevermind that i am already in school and have to survive with an ancient celeron toshiba. keeps me warm in the night. grr dell really sucks this year.

 

heres a tip phamster,a kind csr advised me to put in a fresh order last week,the same spec without the sxga+ screen and to my disbelief it was delivered about 2 hours ago after only 6-7 days!
my original order that was ordered 2 1/2 months ago is still showing pre-production
I have to live with a slightly worse screen but i got my laptop weeks earlier
im reinstalling windows now so i cant really tell how bad the screen is but it seems ok

In all likelyhood my EDD will shift again into November (not long to go now until I find out if it's going to do this), so as soon as it does, I'll order another D630 and see what happens.

I guess you now have the WXGA 1280x800 screen?
