Like many, I too am also trying to decide between a D630 and a T61. My concern is reinstalling the OS when you do not have media.

I've never owned a computer that has not required a reformating of the hard drive and an OS reinstall at some point in its life.

With Dell I can still get media. Lenovo, apparently does not ship OS media. Does anyone have experience reinstalling the OS using Lenovo's ThinkVantage? Also, what do you do if the hard drive is completely toast and you need to replace it? How is the ThinkVantage partition even remotely helpful at this point.

This, in conjunction with the long order times are my greatest concern regarding ordering a T61.

Any comments or feedback will be greatly appreciated.
