Does anyone know anything about the 256MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 110M? I just wanted to know how powerful it is and if it can handle gaming.

I can only think of a view choices. I want a 14 inch widescreen or regular screen. My budget is 1500. I know theres a T60 with a 64 mb X1300. Other than that I cant think of any that fits these requirements. can you?

Which is better for gaming, the quadro or X1300?

Perhaps this. You can drop the bluetooth if you don't need it. Perhaps P1 will let you put in a smaller hard drive if you don't need the space. Which would put youaround $1500. The 7600 will be much better for gaming.

If you want a gaming machine then build a desktop. A far as laptops go this card will do you better than most of the others out there.

Beyond that it's just a matter of choice, nVidia does a great job writting software and drivers but i think their hardware suxs. ATI does a good job making hardware but their software and drivers sux. The software and drivers though make all the difference in the realiabilty of your overall system.

There's no way I'd ever install ATI drivers on any system of mine again just because I hate crap software and system lock ups because of the crap software that they are known for and never fix.

A review from a fellow user:

    http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=150745

I have been asking about games and his experience. I don't play them but I am interested; not now but in the future.

My opinion is that the card is worthwhile if not for gaming but for adjusting the screen settings which allow you to adjust Digital Vibrance and brightness making this rival the Brightview and other glossy high contrast screens.

Keep in mind: you only have one speaker in this rig. Like others have said other computers are made for gaming. If I wanted a gaming laptop, I would look to Sager(first choice with 17 inch screen), Dell XPS 17", or the ASUS line.

And don't think for a minute ATI is going to eventually write better working software and drivers for their hardware you buy. Like all ATI hardware to date, expect them to just do the same, drop all support for past versions of their hardware and instead focus on dumping some new garbage in you lap.

I agree. When you want to change, it's simple to do so.

Well I just do light gaming; I play older games as well. The single speaker isnt a big deal because I always use headphones when listening to music/playing games.

Which is better, the 256 mb quadro or the 64mb X1300?

By the way, another requirement of mine is at least four hours of battery life which the A8J doesnt have.
