I've been eying the D620 as 1/2 the replacement to my nc8430 that has been plagued by hardware and support troubles for months (the other half being a ShuttlePC barebone system I'll put together). The only downsides I can see (pun intended) is the almost universally bad things about the screen.
D620 owners, how bad is it, really? I don't intend to do much more than note-taking/word-processing and perhaps watching a movie on a plane or something, but only once in a blue moon.
I've seen some really tempting price/configurations in the Dell outlet, and I'd like to be able to jump on one if I do end up returning the nc8430 (and no, I don't care about any ramifications of buying a Dell outlet notebook and the potential issues with Vista upgrades), and the screen is the only real reservation I have, at the moment.
Also, I've had terrible tech support from HP Business (I had to send the laptop in twice because they broke it so that it wouldn't even boot when I got it back, and they obviously haven't listened to my explanation of the problem seeing as the original problem never got fixed). I want a laptop that just works without me dedicating hours each week troubleshooting and on the phone with tech support. Heck, I don't appreciate it when they expect me to reinstall windows to fix a problem that's pretty clearly in the hardware, which clearly isn't my fault. Anyway, what experiences have people had with Dell's small business support, specifically with their laptops, obviously? Good and bad, I just want to know.

I have never used a D620, though I have had dealings with Dell support, through small buisness its usually very quick and relatively painless, it all depends on the problem, for all my dealings, even with the drawn out complicated ones, all problems have been resolved to my satisfaction and in one case in particular, beyond.

according to dell community forums all d620 screens have gone through a new revision to correct the many issues at hand, no user reports yet but still promising, ill be ordering mine in a few days
