    Hi All

I have a Lattitude D620 with WXGA+ LCD with onboard Intel Graphics Controller

Display area on the Screen gets decreased when I lower the resolution to 1280x820 or 1280x768
I get black bars on top & bottom and the screen gets blurry.

My friend has got one D620 with the same configuration, this doesn't happen to him.

Is this normal for D620 with WXGA+ and with OnBoard Intel graphics controller.

I have put in 1500 bucks into this laptop, I am totally dis-satisfied.

    Lattitude D620
    Intel Core 2 Duo 7200 2.00 Ghz 4MB L2 Cache, WXGA+ LCD
2 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, 8x DVD Writer, Finger Print Reader, Win XP Pro

I am thiniking to send it back.
    help me please.

    Try upgrading VGA drivers.

If you want to lower the resolution and fill the screen, make sure you're selecting 1280 x 800. Sounds like you're selecting 1280 x 720/768. Which when combined with the laptop set to scale the image while maintaining the aspect ratio, would result in black bars at the top and bottom.

Now this won't solve the blurriness because all LCDs will be blurrier if you run them below their native resolution while scaling the image to fill the entire screen. Some screens have better scaling chips than others, but I've never used an LCD where it wasn't obvious when reading text. This is not a laptop or Dell specific issue, if you wanted to use your laptop at WXGA resolution you should have gotten the WXGA screen. Perhaps you could try contacting Dell and swapping in the lower resolution screen.

    thanks for your reply... Lazybum131

I have got rid of those black bars... by changing the Aspect ratio to Full Screen... in the Intel Graphics Controller Properties.... Its not as blurry as it was... infact its clear...

Its very unfortunate that, no one in Dell.. could let me know about that... after spending close to 15 hours with them...

    anyways... thanks allott..

    How is the screen?

Do you get limited viewing angle?

    Is it bright?
