D620 / XP, working great for a year. I've always hard power off shut down no problems.

Now the last two boot ups my clock (wall clock) time is off, behind a few hours, correct date so far. Off by fewer hours than it's been shut down.

Any thoughts on what could be changing the time on me?

    tnx curt

either the cmos battery is dying (likely) or it doesn't like the recent time change (less likely)?
