    D420 release date?

    I've seen conflicting reports on different threads on this board about the release date for the Latitude D420. Some say late June, others say August.

    Does anyone know for sure when it will be out? Thanks!!!

    NOSintake, I checked their website and could not find any information. I also called Dell but they did not know.

    Metamorphical, are you teasing, or do you really have an idea? Can you PLEASE share, if so? It's really important because I need to make a decision on a laptop. Thank you!

    Goldilox, sit tight. I know it's a really important discision to purchase a laptop. My advice to you is if you can hold out for just a little while longer do so. If the decision needs to be made right now at 11:55est maybe the D420 isn't for you then. I can't say when it's coming out. But Andrew flat out gave you a hint and he does. His post is quite encouraging. Keep watching the review and news section. If the D420 really is coming out in a matter of hours or just a few days. You'll see something there before long. That's my idea.

    Thanks Metamorphical :) I'll follow your advice. I don't care about the exact date per se, I basically just needed to know if it was sometime this month or not until late August; I am starting law school in late August and I don't want to wait until then to get the computer because I don't want to deal with adjusting to law school AND a new computer simultaneously. Anyway, thanks again.

    Amazing, thank you so much. Sorry about the confusion earlier; I thought you guys were being sarcastic/teasing with the comments about its impending release...what are the chances I would happen to find out and ask about it a few hours before it's released? Apparently higher than I thought!

    Anyway, it looks great, although the only drawback, which I thought was interesting, was that it does not have an integrated optical drive, despite earlier reviews noting that it did. Oh well! I think this will nonetheless be the one for me. Thanks again.

    PS it's not yet on Dell's website. I wonder when they'll put it up...
