Can this be done easily as there is no optical drive built in? I am considering this machine but would like to be able to load the OS every so often. I assume you cant use the USB external drive but would the media slice drive also be unrecognised by the XP install?

Anyone successfully reloaded XP onto a D420 and can they tell me how its done? I realise I will have drivers and stuff to add in afterwards.

I would assume it can be done with the external drive or the media slice. I did it on my T41 with an external USB drive, but don't have any firsthand experience with the D420. Is there some reason you are installing XP? Latitudes come with no bloatware.
