    Hi,

I've recently been given a Latitude D410, but have little experience of either computers or notebooks.

The keyboard is driving me crazy!

How do I make the number keys along the top do what they say? Some of them have three things on them, for example the number 2 key also has " and @, I can make the " appear, but cannot get the @ to appear at all, so I can't even write an email address.

The number 7 key also has / and {, but all I can make appear apart from the number 7 is & (the ampersand) which isn't even shown on the key!

    Am I doing something wrong?

Any help at all would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Jon.

You may find the answer by going to Dell's site, go to the "service" area, and lookup the manual for that machine. Good luck, I'd hate to have that problem!

Are you pressing the CTRL KEY AT THE SAME TIME YOU PRESS THE # KEY?

Thanks for your help. I took it to an computer store and they told me it had a Norwegian keyboard!

If I change it to a US keyboard, should that do the trick?

    Thanks again.

Instead of pressing shift 2 for getting the @ sign (for English keyboards), try pressing ALTGR 2.

Changing the keyboard should work, but you have to change the keyboard settings in the OS.
