Does anyone know why dell are dragging their feet in adding the quadro option to the D630s in the UK/Europe? I've been trying to spec a dell laptop for work for a month and was originally going to go with a D620, but decided to wait for the 630. Probably wouldn't have bothered if I knew it was going to take this long. I note its available on both the US and the australian dell website, but not the UK one.

Have looked at the M1330 and was quite impressed. Lack of docking would be an issue but the deal breaker is no option for Windows XP. Vista is out of the question for the moment (not a personal issue, an IT support issue).

I tried asking dell directly but ended up with someone in a foriegn call centre that could barely communicate in english and persisted in asking me stupid questions rather than answering the simple question I was asking.

You may not be able to order it with XP, but that doesn’t mean you cant install XP on it. Right now there are no drivers available for download at the DELL support site (XP nor Vista). But I think they will soon release them, because all other DELL Santa Rosa notebooks have XP driver downloads, most of the components (if not all) used in M1330 are being used by those other notebooks; therefore if they have XP drivers I don’t see any reason why M1330 wouldn’t.

If docking port is not the main reason you are putting off M1330, don’t give up on it just yet. If you can wait a little longer, see what happens.
