This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     D/Port replicator and dual-head with 2 external displays

    All,

    I've got a D620 and a D/Port port replicator. The D620 has only VGA out but the D/Port supports both DVI and VGA. My question is, can I run dual-head with two external displays if I'm willing to give up the laptop LCD? I'd just run the system with the laptop closed and pretend it's a desktop. Of course I don't think the DVI would be using digital out, but maybe it would be active with a DVI-VGA adapter?

    This seems slightly unreasonable to me, but I wanted to make sure before I give up on this. I have two 1908FP's sitting here and the second one is lonely in the box and wants out :)

    I tried searching the forums but any combination of dual,head,d/port,port just produced too many results and I think this request is somewhat uncommon.
