Hi EVERYONE-I'm Kevin I've been reading up on laptops and of course Dell seem to be the Number One leading notebook it seems for the price/performance; of course you pay for what you get with Dell's products when it comes to "alright" quality making it a double edge sward.
I'm hoping you guys n' gals could help me what's needed and not needed for a 9300 setup for Gaming of course.
CPU:
1.6gHZ is that enough? or should I add 1.86gHZ or thier not much diffrence? 200 ponys can"t hurt right but is it noticble? I always thought not much diffrence plus is the CPU upgradible after 2yrs when warrenty ends?(I belive its a yes if I read the other threads right)
Display:
I have no say in this-I know nothing about UXGA,WXGA,XGA and etc... all I know is screen quality or something. Main point is UXGA Trulife worth adding or not? or Stick with XGA+
Limited Warranty:
Is TWO(2) years good enough even though I'll be getting it insured with State Farm? Even Though I'm hoping this to last me through college with DECENT gaming(5yrs)if a keyboard, router socket wirless card or something goes out I still got the 2yrs to cover the basic.
Battery:
Does Dell replace old ones or do you need to buy a new one? I wouldn't mind getting new ones for free or having a plan thats give me new freash Lythium Ion's staking up in my room till a day I go on LONG LONG flights/Road trips with EXTRA Clips ready to be drained hehe ^_^
Coupons: is 35% a offten promotion? Anything ever higher than 35%? If I do order a Laptop dont I geyt a 21day Grace period when I can cancel it or something?

cpu is upgradable I got the 1.73 just because i didnt want the basics the display i didnt upgrade cause to many ppl were complaining about the truelife screens being sparkly I have no problems with the screen i have looks great. If you purchase using American Express or some of the other credit cards (not sure which ones) they will give you an extra year of warranty through them after the 1 year warranty so i opted just to get the one year + accidental protection.
not sure about the battery question.
the 35% off deal ended up being a better deal than the coupon i used for $800 off so i think its all what you configured
hope this helped... -

I plan on taking it to school offten and GPS it when I go on long driving trips.(Whats a good brand/Price GPS System?)
From what you guys say I guess this what it'll look like:
CPU 1.6gHZ(is it cheaper to upgrade your self?)
GPU 6800
RAM 1GB(It's a Must!)
Drive: 24x Burner(all i need is burning movie not porn =P)
HD 40GB(Upgrade later) I'm still confused if you upgrade it while having warrenty will it be voided?
Battery 9cell(OF COURSE!)
Disply Standard XGA+ (I remmeber my friend *****ed bout the shiny screen)
Warranty 2yrs(to stay on the safe side + State farm ^_^)
Credit card Ummm I'll be using my Citi Bank card 12months 0% intrest for the first 12 months =P I'm a college student what do u exspect? hehe. any free warranty with Citi? -
