    Customizable Screen?

    Some DELL laptops, such as Inspiron 1300 allow you to pick either 14.1" or 15.4" screens. How does this work? Will they share the same frame? If I choose a smaller screen, will they use a smaller frame as well so that the overall size/weight is smaller/less?

    the footprint is the same. there is bezel that occupies the space that the larger LCD would have taken up.
