Customising the 1420 here in Australia - their newest deal is free upgrade to 4Gb memory.

I go to customise the processor (want to upgrade from T7100), and the T7500 is $165 cheaper than the T7300! How is this meant to be correct?

As long as they're not overcharging you, don't question it and thank Dell.

Sounds like a bunch of errors, 4GB RAM upgrade for free is definitely an error...T7500 $165 less than the T7300 only confirms it ;)

That's a rush edit job, but you can clearly see that the 7500 is selected, and the 7300 has the +$165 upgrade next to it. You can also see the current RAM upgrade in the top left corner, and Current system price.

Arg, I guess I am going to have to answer this the correct way.

Intel has announced price cuts on their Core 2 Duos. Dell is reflecting those price cuts sporadically, and only in specific processors. That's why a higher end processor (with a price cut) is cheaper than a lower end processor (without a price cut),

Thats around 1650 in USD. I actually went on the Australian Dell website and configured from those different choices. 4GB really isn't needed as your OS can only manage 3.5GB of ram. You should look into the lesser deals to save money. You might be getting more than what you need. If not, go for the deal you already have configured.

I'll bet the T7300 is so expensive cuz they're so short on T7300's right now.

As for the free 4GB... well it could be for the same reason, but I'm a bit more skeptical...
