*Current Status of XPS m1530* sorry

I ordered my xps on May 25th with a ESD of June 13th. Still in the build stage as of current on June 10th so I assume I will be getting a delay... :(

From some of the rare horror stories I read on these forums I can forget it took to long if I can get a perfect laptop haha.

What's the status of you guys with a similar order date and ESD and does anyone know about how long the delays usually have been recently?

I ordered mine on 5/26 with an ESD of 6/13, and I'm still in build, too. :(
Do you really think that means we'll get delayed, mrboyd?

I'm okay with a delay I guess, but I really want it to be delivered before I go to orientation on the 24th.

Ordered the 10th of May, said it was gonna ship today. Got a delay today, saying it will ship the 17th of June, but the automated status order line says it will ship the 24th of june. Seriously 1 and a half months for a computer to build and be shipped is ridiculous, I'm now going to cancel my order and take my business to a company that's a bit more serious.

Yea I'm afraid we will be getting delayed..... Still says build... Although I have heard of a couple people getting delayed about a week ago and theres shipped a couple days after even though there new esd delay said it would ship like a week after. I really really hope this is going to be the case.

Also if anybody does get delayed be sure to call and get the free upgrade to next day shipping. I hear they will do this.

    Black
    WXGA+
    2.2 ghz proc

You don't even have to wait until you are delayed to get the free shipping upgrade. I called after two weeks and got free next day shipping and a $50 credit.

I ended up waiting 5 weeks. My replacement system came in less than one week after the order was put in.

I've read that the delays are due to a shortage of the 6 cell batteries. You might call and see if they'll upgrade you to the 9-cell battery for free and ship it sooner :)

I tried this several times. I was told in order to modify an order, you must cancel your first order.

Right now they have a promotion going, where the 9 cell is the same price as the 6 cell.

I am sure when they don't have the promo going on, you can get a 9 cell if you complain about the delay...but again, you must cancel your order and re-order, which would probably take the same, if not more, time.

yea I think I'd get my laptop sooner if I just wait it out instead of canceling for 9-cell. Uhggg Dell just can't fathom the extent of my pain! hah...

I hope my laptop just missed the scans for testing and boxing and goes from build straight to shipping. lol it's a long shot but possible.
