    Hi.. I am new to the forum and was looking for some adivce...

    Was looking at the current dell offers on Inspirion laptops.. 30% off a machine 1299 or more.. sounds pretty good... was looking for opinions.. you think this is as good as it gets from them.. or should I wait a bit.. was looking at the 1525.. and need to get it with 4 yr. service and accident protection.. my daughter will be going to college and whan it covered bumper to bumper...

    There are some better deals, but not many.

    I can see maybe in Augest the laptop being cheaper for back to school sales, but not any time more soon than that.

    Laptops will always get cheaper. However I tend to nickle and dime everything. And I've been comparing it to the HP $400 off, Best Buy/CCity sales etc. Sony Re-furbished items and even Dell Refurbished items with 15% off and the Dell 30% off coupons rock everything else.

    In fact the 30% setup that I built was cheaper and better than the Refurbed Dell/15% off.

    I just could not get the same setup as on the Dell with any other manufacturer. The only drawback is that the Dell 14" tends to be heavier than other 14"s.

    Thanks for the info.. I am leaning towards the 15.4 inch... which is also cheaper...
