    Hey folks,

I am curious, does anyone know of alternatives to the HD Audigy package that Dell offers? [Granted, i do have an external soundcar], But when I'm on the road, its nice to sometimes have stonger volume, better bass and crisper sound...

Any ideas - like realtek AC97 software (but better, maybe with EAX or something)?

    Cheers,
    DocTemp

I think the HD Audigy package enables EAX, so it would make the sound better overall and louder from what ive read. Its only $25, and if it gives you EAX then I think its a good deal. Thats a big sound quality increase for $25. But It also depends on what speaker setup you have on your notebook. If you've got underside mounted ones, then its likley not going to make much of a difference. But im assuming your atleast getting an Inspiron, which have good speakers.

Hmm well now I looked at another model and its a $16 upgrade on the E1505, but its a $25 upgrade on the M1210. Why would the same upgrade be a different price on a different notebook?

depends on what type of promo's goin on. If it's x dollars off, then the price should be $25. If it's a certain percent off then it'll be lower depending on the percent.

My laptop shipped with a "preview" of it ... To activate the preview it was only 19.99 ... So, me thinks the pricing is all over the board.
