I ordered a Studio 17 on November the 18th, in the afternoon. It has apparently shipped on the 21st. I've heard that they are assembled in Malaysia, then shipped to the US (Texas??) before being shipped to me in Canada. I'm curious as to how its possible to get it built then shipped to two separate countries from across the world all in 2 days?

it might be that someone else ordered exactly your config, but then cancelled their order. so they already had the laptop built, and just need to ship it to you.

It's the lovely production world of Dell. Sounds like a fast build for you..and several things could've come into factor.

Consider yourself lucky, that its getting to you that fast! :D That's a pretty good build time...They prob's had all the parts they needed, extra inventory..and nothing to hold up the process, etc. :D

    Cin ;) :)

Pretty sweet! :) Although I should wait until it actually gets here before I do a victory dance.

I think they've actually got enough parts since they revamped the studio line this month. I ordered a studio 17 on 10/21 and was stuck in the build phase as of 11/19. I canceled and reordered with the rgb led high def screen and the new montevina 2.53Ghz on 11/19 and as of TODAY it is in testing. I'm pretty hopeful, I see I'm not the only one noticing the difference,
