Either you broke it or it just popped off. Turn the notebook off, and then try gently (but firmly) pushing the key back into the post it was on. If it doesn't work after a little effort, I'd just call Dell and have them ship you a new keyboard.

Ya it just popped off while I was typing. I got it on, but it is very loose. I think I'll get another keyboard.

I was able to reattach a key on my older Dell laptop. I think the service manual describes how to do it, if you're interested. They have the service manuals on the Dell website, under the support section.

It is very tricky to get a key back on the 1520...it is very fiddly.

There should be three parts to the key; the actual key, and two little plastic bits that connect the key to the board. Sit down and have a good look at how the three parts fit together with the board.

I managed to fix mine, but i got a replacement keyboard in the end anyway.

Any chance you could give me some tips on how to reattach a key to the 1520?

Do you hsve to remove the pastic bits from the keyboard first? or jsut raise them to slide the top key top - right to left?

    Thanks
