If it's compatible with the 1420, then yes. Great deal.

It's not bad...starting prices are around $45 now for either 2x1GB or 1x2GB DDR2 PC2 5300 sticks incl shipping. You can get Crucial 2x1GB at newegg for $47.48.

Thanks....I guess I will do the 2x1GB for the 1420....too bad my E1705 can only handle 2MB...if it could handle four, I would put my existing 2x1GB in the E1420 (if it is compatible) and upgrade the 1705 to 2 x 2GB....

Cruicial makes good memory.... That price doesn't seem bad.. Interestingly for the same price range you can get G-Skill with a heat spreader.... anyone know if heat spreaders do anything?

For a laptop, I doubt it'll do anything.

Or are you asking about what heat spreaders do? LOL. It spreads the heat on the heat spreader to dissipate heat faster. But since a laptop has limited airflow especially near the RAM slots, I doubt the heat spreaders will do anything in a laptop.

    Desktop is a different story...
