Well, I finally had a chance to listen to the crazy noise coming from the headphone jack on my 1520. So I contact Dell (via chat) and manage to get a $75 coupon from them to put towards an expresscard sound option. Interestingly, they don't seem to carry any on the Canadian Dell site, but have an ample selection on the US site. So I go to the Creative Labs Canada site and see that they don't list the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook (the one I've got my eye on) on the Canadian site either. I contact them regarding this and they respond saying people have been buying them in Canada via Dell(!).

So my question, have any Canadians on this board bought a X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook (or equivalent) from Dell in Canada, and if so, how did you find it?

    Thanks.

They don't have the expresscard X-Fi, darn, I was going to try to get the exact same thing you did for the noise with my 1520
