The new Inspiron 13 I picked up seems to run fairly warm.

T2390. 1.86MHZ, 2gb ram. Vista with Aero turned off.

    CPU Temps:
    Idle- 49C
    Watching DVD- 55C

Anyone have any experience with this processor?
    Do these temps seem reasonable?

    Those temps look pretty good.

They seem fine. Turn on power saver when you are idling, you will see even lower temperatures :D .

Can you feel your fans running? Your idle temp is on the hot side, but your max temp falls within the safe range. I wonder if you would have the same result if you tried putting the laptop on a hard flat surface, or better yet, a grated one that does not restrict air as much.

You should have no problems with CPU temps. GPU temps are fine as long as they do not go above 86 no matter how you use it.

Those numbers were with the laptop sitting on a stone surface.

Fan doesn't come on until CPU temp hits 62C. GPU (igp) temps are about one degree higher than CPU on average.

Just thought that I would add that last night I d'loaded the Crysis demo to see what sort of a range my temps were. This is on a T7250 and 8400gs.

CPU 38c-60c (my first laptop, never got my custom desktop over 50c)
GPU 50c-91c (Holy S***, never got my 6600gt over 70c, and that thing was over clocked)

CPU temps don't scare me too much . . . another 10 degrees and I would be worried. GPU temp reminds me of the ATI x1900 xt series or whatever that ran over 100c quite often. Does anyone know what the Specified temp tolerances are for these GPUs?

Might need to rip into the case a little early and get some artic silver in there at least. Maybe someone sells a better heatsink and fan somewhere.
