    Hi,

I'd like to remove the internal DVD burner from the XPS M1210.

Is there a part to cover the hole?

    If so - what's the p/n?

    Thx,
    D

I don't think the optical drive is easily removable, but I could be wrong.

If it's anything like past models, it's one screw and a tab....let me go check, and I'll post back!

Yup, there we go. But I don't see the face listed seperately. I would think the bezel can come off the drive itself, most can. In that case, you would just need a mounting mechanism. Good luck!

Yes, it's indeed one screw and a tab, so very easily removable.
I always want to do this too, since I don't use the DVD drive 99.9% of the time. Maybe one of those days, I'll just put a piece of black paper, and tape it to the chasis, lol.

So the question stands - does anyone know the p/n of optical drive bay mounting bracket and filler panel (bezel)?

    Thx,
