I bought a computer back in 2006 with a 4 year complete care warranty. Ive had many things happen over the years and multiple parts replaced. I have even had the blue tooth keyboard/mouse replaced.
One question I had is: Could I get them to send me a new backpack. I bought it with the original pc and the warranty.
Also, If I extend my warranty... do they still compare replacements to the first computer i ever bought or do they compare it to the machine i have at the time of buying the extension.

Possibly on the backpack, but probably not. Can't hurt to call/chat and ask.
It's compared to what you originally purchased, but nothing from 4 years ago compares to current systems. -

It's always good to call and ask them. Maybe even complain a little bit until they give in. You never know what could happen.. I've heard of people getting free stuff and even huge discounts by calling in.

Im also getting a replacement(NEW) alienware m17x.... I heard that dell only does up to 5 year warranty. Do you think when i get it and contact alienware support they would give me another 4 year?
-
So you want 9 years of warranty? I only know of cars with warranties that long
-
I believe you can buy warranty that is as long as you want. When it runs out, you can extend it.. right now I just ordered another 2 years on top of 4, and they're trying to get me to buy another year for a total of 7...

yeah it only goes to 5 years...as quoted by a rep

But clearly, your total of 7 years of potential warranty contradicts my Customer Care Rep's claim so I dunno!
Couple warranty questions
