    Hello,
I have been looking for an all in one notebook i would say.
I searched for 4 days straight, and at the dell site i compiled the dell inspiron 9400, because the other laptops i couldnt afford ( Netherlands resident, not cheap here, and not much choice ).
( i want my self a laptop for the future, with a double processor,at least 1gb of ram, and a non-reflecting sharp screen, not too bright. The video card in the premium range too if possible. The other things do not matter to me )
This is the system i wanted to buy:
    DELL :

    Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T2400 (1.83 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)

    1024MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)

100GB (5,400 rpm) SATA Hard Drive

17" Wide Screen WXGA+(1440x900) ( it doesnt say if its a glossy screen which im absolutely against... cos of my eyes )

256mb nvidia geforce go 7900GS. ( i ve read its a good one, although the heating can b bothering , maybe buy some external laptop cooler ? )

    PRICE:1626,22 $

    Feedback very appreciated...

Getting a 7200 RPM hard drive will improve the performance quite a bit. If you get the slightly lower 80 GB disk at this speed, it should cost you about as much as your current configuration.

Hi ringostar, i can only choose 100gb or more, and yea if i ll pay 130$ more , the 7200rpm will b possible yea...

Im actually the most bothered about the screen :( but i see you have the same screen i would order too, do you know if your is matte ? ( thats opposite of glossy right lol ?

Mine is still on order :( , so I can't really say for sure if the screen is matte. But based on whatever I have read in these forums, XGA+ screen is matte and UXGA is glossy.

I chose the lower res display because I will use the laptop primarily for work and larger font / window size was a big factor. Also, the glare on the glossy screen seems to be an issue for some.

ooow i see, so wgxa+ should be normal, by the way i ve just seen that the dell screens on laptops have only 300:1 contrast...( which would resolute in poor quality of movies etc ? ) maybe that why dell is cheap lol.
"truelife"makes the dell laptop screens non-reflective, so u might have it maybe... I know i would need that for sure

No, I have ordered two Dell laptops few weeks ago (both were E1505s). One was WSXGA (which is UltraSharp high resolution 1600x1200 or so) and only comes with TrueBright (glossy) screen. Another one had WXGA+ and it had glossy screen. I believe that regular (matte screens) are designated by WXGA, while TrueBright have + next to them. WUGA is something else! Good luck.
