I recently bought another 512MB PC2100/DDR266 memory stick for my laptop, but when I installed it neither the bios nor my OS seemed to identify but cpu-z sees it just fine. Any ideas? I don't think the different brands should matter (the other one is elpida), since they're both 512MB and DDR266.

Nevermind, I just placed the stick wrongly (as in, not deeply enough into the slot) and the bios couldn't identify it... I wonde how cpu-z could though.
