From the front page I found a reference to this Sager thead: here, that mentionds tuning for better performance.

Does Dell tune for having multi/duo cores or not? Does this only pertain to factory models, or would it have to be done to fresh installs too?

If it is a hotfix, shouldn't it fix itself?

I checked my e1505 and it wasn't tuned. The directions were easy and clear. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference though.

Well I tuned it... now what? My computer was only missing the command in the boot.ini folder - so should I be expecting any extra performance or not?

This tweak has been around for a while(The first time I saw it was a month after Athlon X2 was released). I believe it is only necessary for Dual/multi core AMD processors. Not needed for Intel CPUs and AMD Multi CPUs(And of course single CPUs).
