After reading up about the battery consumption problem that Intel Dual Core processors have under Windows XP SP2, whenever a USB 2.0 device is plugged in, I am wondering whether there is a simple solution for this.

Would it be possible to remove the ACPI driver in Windows and replace it with a driver from SP1?

Simple solution, if that would work. Input?

No wonder. I got a cooling plate without fans for that reason.
