Is there any way to put a Core 2 Quad processor into a Dell 1520 notebook?

You cannot put a desktop processor in there, sorry.

The new Clevo also uses desktop processors. Different pin out, different chipset, different form factor, etc...

Yeah, but don't they squeeze in desktop parts in their laptops? Clevo's can also run 800 MHz DDR2 RAM, right? And I believe no notebook chipset can currently do that...

They are less than ideal for laptops. Sure they perform, but they are HOT and eat battery.

Again, the Clevo is a monster laptop that is using desktop parts. Even if you could put a quad core in the 1520, I'd guarantee it would melt the laptop within 30 minutes. Of course, assuming the battery does not run out before then.

    Lmfao..

That Clevo laptop is also like 2.35" thick to..Not exactly ideal to carry around.

Laptop Quad Core chips are coming so stop trying to relate laptops to desktops - or - thinking you can upgrade laptops with desktop parts.

Will the mobile quad core work in YOUR laptop? No one can say unless they have been fortune enough to get one of the chips and try. All likely hood, it will fit inside the machine but not boot. BIOS updates/hacks needed.
