I just got a 1720 with the T7100, 2GB RAM and 8600M GT (I'll put that in my sig soon) Was wondering the best way to keep it cool at all times, i want this baby to live for several years easy (3-4 at least)
So I was thinking in investing in one of those passive cooling pads that look just like a big hot mitt ( http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-ixoft-notebook-cooler-black.html) for when i can't use a Pacific Breeze. Would undervolting the processor help it last, and is there anything else i can do to make sure it stays cool? Thanks for the help

Don't turn it on?
lol seriously tho, if you want it to last that long, id rather invest in an extended warranty/accidental protection as opposed to cooling methods. Right now im using bottle caps and flat board as my cooling device (raises it a little and it actually did reduce the temps a bit) -
Wait...you ordered? Or you already got yours?.........

Yea i know whatcha mean but I'm too cheap for warrenties I think its just up to hoping that keeping it cool will help, and if it breaks it breaks, i'll just have to move on

Ordered lol sorry I guess I've made it seem like I already have it eh? I could only dream that I already had it, but yea, alot of planning has gone into this, so just tryin to be prepared ya know

You could try your hand at notebook coolers, I'm getting one for my Sager.
