I have a dead Studio 1536 & I just got done buying a H281K ATI motherboard, Intel T9600 CPU & heatsink / fan off E-Bay. I can't wait for them to arrive. I'm tired of using this old Inspiron 1100. My 1536 has 4G DDR2 & a 320G HDD already. I'll update this thread when it's up and running. Once it's working again then I'll go after a backlit keyboard :D

how much did the motherboard, cpu and heatsink cost together? u seem to be changing most of the components lol, might be nearly the same price to get a refurbished laptop with better specs. the x4500hd just doesnt cut it! (im assuming u dont have the ati gpu as ur changing motherboard)?

I spent just under $440 w/ shipping. My AMD motherboard died & I refused to by a new AMD motherboard. It did have ATI graphics but they are intergrated into the motherboard on the 1535, 1536, 1537. The laptop was only 13 months old ( 1 year warrenty ) when it died, so I decieded to bring it back to life better than ever ( 2.8GHz Intel vs. 2.0GHz AMD ). I'm not a gamer, but I do You Tube from time to time.
