I got my Dell Studio 15 today. Everything seems fine except for the fact that the screen hurts my eyes. I tried lowering the brightness levels but it really is the contrast. My older laptop (inspiron) was fine. What can I do?

    Call Dell.
    A lot faulty LCD's around...
My new notebook has flicking problem.
I had HP with ultra bright display, and I understand your problem very well.
If you can return the iteam or have Dell to replace your Display.

Why not play with the video settings before declaring it a defective lcd?

You should be able to lower the contrast by going into the video properties.
