Does anyone else have this problem? I recently acquired a Inspiron 9400 but can not even use it on my lap. It's not the weight but rather the continual electric shocks I receive from it. In fact, I get shocked by simply touching it sometimes. Is there an electric leakage in the notebook or is that just now it's designed?

Do you have a two-prong or three-prong AC adapter?

A 3 prong adapter will fix the issue. :)

I'm not 100% about Aussie power plugs. If your adapter is not grounded/earthed, you need to get one that is. That's why you are getting shocked, because your laptop is building up voltage relative to ground while it runs.

It does not harm the laptop, it just shocks you.
