I'm considering moving to a D630 after some of the issues I've had with my Thinkpad T61. Not sure if this is a Lenovo issue or a Lenovo + Vista issue, but it certainly is troublesome.

Here is a link to a thread discussing some of the issues that I've had.

Just wondering if any D630 users have run into any problems with Vista and docking?

Likewise, I haven't seen anything of the sort with my machine and mine was from one of the first batches of D630s.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate that because I am so tired of this T61 that just will not behave well with the advanced dock.

    I ordered a D630 today. I've already got a dock from a D610 that I had.

I normally do not like to buy new laptops, M/B and CPUs most of them have issues or pricey or both.

I wait for 1-2 years when the products have all the issues solved and prices also drop drastically. At the same time I get a well proven product. If most people have the same attitude as I am the laptop manufacturers would be out of business!!!!

Many here would not agree I am sure.

I have T22, T23 and D600. All of the are good to excellent products. No plans for D630 or any new laptops of any other brands.

that's the most ridiculous thing i've heard in a while lol. do you see any T22, T23 and D600's in production right now with all those "issues" solved? oh yeah they're the new T61 and D630's. i'm pretty sure every model has their fair share of issues. besides, what makes you think you'll have problems with the new T61's and D630's? and that others aren't having problems with their T23's and D600's?

I don't think you understand the main thrust of my arguement. Your message does not make much sense to me after reading it at least twice.

I have thrown the cat among the pigeons, I don't intend to respond to those who disagree with me, except for this one. If you disagree we should agree to disagree and leave it at that.

BTW, I don't have any problems/issues with my T22 and T23 both excellent, my D600(1 or 2 issues) other than that it is good but not excellent, I suspect T40/41/42 is better but more expensive. Also, I am NOT a Dell basher.I bought Dell, D600(with a Dothan CPU) because I thought I give it a try and the price is attractive.

    Cheers...
