So, I've been spending the last few days customizing laptops on various sites. I've been messing with the XPS and Inspiron on Dell's site, but it just comes up too expensive when I get the things I want on there. I never considered the D630 because I don't know much about it (I'm not the most comp savvy guy), but I customized it, and it came up with a surprisingly good price. My question is why. It's being billed as a business notebook, but I'm not sure if that will matter for me, since I'll be using it for college (freshman next year.) I'll use it for taking notes, typing papers, browsing the internet, downloading/listening to music, watching movies, and messing around with photoshop. That's really about all I can envision myself using it for. So I guess my question is, will this notebook be right for me, because the price certainly is. Or another question would be, how does it differ from each the XPS/Inspiron series , in general?

IMO the Dell D630 is great notebook for a college student unless you want to play the lastest FPS games. The reviewer of the Dell Latitude D630 is even a college student

The difference is that the Latitude line is more durable(magnisum alloy chassis and hdd protection) and overall it has a stronger build quality compared to the xps/inspiron line. Also the lappy comes with little to none bloatware so that a plus too and it might have a better warranty options but i am not sure.

Dont forget a Latitude comes with 3 yr warranty.

Those Inspiron comes with 1 yr and if your motherboard died, it cost alot of money to replace.

    So think about that too.
