    Hello everyone,

I am attempting to connect my Dell Inspiron 1520 to my Panasonic Plasma HDTV. The problem I am running into is that my Dell only has a VGA port, while my HDTV only has HDMI ports (and also composite ports, but I want the best picture here). From my understanding this means that I will need a converter box. Can anyone recommend one to me? I did come across this one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016SN49Y?ref_=cm_cr_pr_product_top

You can use a converter box, or a USB to HDMI adapter. But also realize it will be very taxing on your system, so don't expect to get high transfer over USB when you use the adapter. It's essentially a external USB video card.

So it sounds like a converter box would be the better option over a USB to HDMI? My purposes for connecting my laptop to my TV is to stream tv shows, movies, etc. from my computer to my TV.
