my wife is a photographer and does lots of Photoshopping. She wants to connect her laptop to our 46" LCD TV. So the TV has a PC-in slot – seems like a standard 15pin female slot for a standard 15pin male cable. The laptop too has the same. So I figure I can get a standard 15pin male/male video monitor cable?

I need a fairly long one so that she can sit on the couch and connect to the TV. So i looked at ebay and found this item:

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/5M-15-pin-VGA-Male-Male-cable-PC-to-Monitor-Projector_W0QQitemZ250361313800QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Components?hash=item250361313800&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

But I can't figure out why the item says "-- This cable can not work on Laptops". If this is a 15pin male/male cable why wouldn't it work laptop->LCD TV?

That is very odd. You might as well ask the seller to clarify, though I think it will still work.

edit: the item has ended. though there are probably others from the same seller
