I'm having a problem connecting my new Sony XBR4 HDTV to my 1720. I'm currently using a VGA connection, and the main problem is that when I change to the external display mode by using the Fn+F8 key, a very small portion of the lower left hand side of my desktop is displayed on the top-right corner of my TV, but not the whole thing, the rest of the screen on the TV is blank.

The problem may lie in the way i'm doing it, so here are my steps:
    1. Hook up VGA on Laptop to VGA on HDTV
    2. Press Fn+F8

The weird thing is that my old desktop has no problems with the VGA cable, so I know it's not my cable. I'm also able to get the laptop to display on the TV with the use of an S-Video cable, but it's not what I'm looking for.
