I originally thought that VGA is a better source to use for the primary monitor, but after a bit of research the DVI cable is actually better suited?

I am using a docking station for my d830 to the 24 as primary and a 19 as a secondary...

Am I better off to use the DVI for the 24????

DVI is vastly superior in every way.

Yes, DVI all the way. It's a much nicer picture.
