I ordered my M1330 on July 30th. It has been in pre-production ever since according to the dell status page(though I was told by customer service that it had been in production for most of that time). It was supposed to be delivered tommorow. Now, I get an email saying it won't arrive until 5th September. But now my order status page has switched to delivery preparation and neither delivery estimate is displayed on this page. Is this good or bad? Why would it get delayed at this point? How conservative do people think the 20day delay is?
I'm in the Uk and as far as I can see there are no part delays currently.

It is a known problem with the Dell order status system: It automatically updates itself with a new (and hopefully better) estimate of the EDD two working days ahead of the EDD if the computer has not been shipped.

You can try to ask Dell what is happening. Someone may be able to give an explanation or expedite the production.

Thanks. So is the 20 days automatically assigned by the system i.e. no human has made a decision on this? And is it possible my laptop is just a couple of days delayed?

My order status page now says I'm in delivery phase. That must be good. That email did worry me though. The company they're sending it with, WWI seem a bit shoddy... crap website, no chance of delivery tracking.

Ah! First delayed 20 days and now in delivery!

I've already had this email from Dell regarding delivery (which for me is ~mid September)

So, once your order leaves the factory then, if you don't hear from WW, you know where to call. I understand that WW handles the bulk shipping from Ireland but may pass the boxes to other companies for final delivery.

Oh. Why is yours taking so long despite having an email about delivery? I'm glad it's Walsh Western, I typed in WWI into google and came up with this shoddy looking outfit: http://www.wwi.co.uk/ Doesn't look like a consumer shipping company at all really.
