    Either will work though you can probably get it a bit cheaper elsewhere on the internet.

    Zaz is right. You should find out what type of ram you have as in DDR or DDR2 and the Mhz as in 667mhz and I'm assuming that it would be SODIMM which is for notebook memory. Once you have this info you should google it and check the prices. Usually the HP's and Gateways of the world are a lot more expensive than say pricegrabber or newegg.

    If you want to buy the ram from dell(i dont recommend it) go for the PC2-5300 667mhz because its cheaper. There is no noticable difference betweent the PC2-5300(677mhz) or the PC2-4200(533mhz).
